過去的七天假期讓25歲的上海人劉依薇(音譯)感到精疲力竭。她不是去旅行也沒有加班,而是在各地之間奔忙,準(zhǔn)備好一疊疊鈔票來應(yīng)對“紅色炸彈”。
上文中的red bombs(紅色炸彈)指wedding invitation card(婚禮請柬),因請柬為紅色,收到請柬一般都要破費,所以俗稱“紅色炸彈”。被紅色炸彈“炸”到的人就要準(zhǔn)備好給新婚夫婦的gift money(禮金),俗稱份子錢。如今隨著80后一代紛紛到了prime marriage age(適婚年齡),一到marriage season(結(jié)婚旺季)“紅色炸彈”多得讓人望而生畏。
原來舉辦婚禮的新人因為收到的禮金超過婚禮花銷,所以通常辦婚禮還能賺錢,但現(xiàn)在隨著物價的上漲,婚慶市場也全面漲價,請wedding announcer(婚禮主持人)和bridal makeup artist(新娘化妝師)都要花不少錢,辦wedding banquet(婚宴)花銷更是不小。
