The city called on its citizens to reduce the amount of time they spend driving during the games in order to reduce gridlock and reduce the city's carbon emissions.

黃國強(qiáng)說，在大運會期間，路面上大量減少的車輛將大規(guī)模節(jié)約能源和減少碳排放。

文中的“Universiade”就是“大運會”的意思，是由 university 和 Olympiad 兩個詞縮合而成。“Olympiad”這個詞是“奧林匹克運動會”。“大運會”的另外一個表達(dá)是“World University Games”。世界大學(xué)生運動會，素有“小奧運會”之稱，由“國際大學(xué)生體育聯(lián)合會”（英語：International University Sports Federation；法語：Federation Internationale du Sport Universitaire）主辦。
