私奔，一個常在狗血電視劇里出現的橋段，用英語應該怎么說呢？

我們可以直接使用elope這個詞來表示“私奔”，elope有兩個意思：

1. to run away secretly with the intention of getting married usually without parental consent（一般未經父母同意，為了結婚而偷偷地逃跑）

2. to run away from one's spouse with a lover（與情人一起私奔，逃離原配）

例：She attempted to elope, but didn't get far and was sent home.

不過，現在私奔有了新的含義，也可用于指舉辦小型私密的婚禮。
